Admissions
Hunterdon Christian Academy is an interdenominational Christian school which offers a program for students who desire an education in a Christian environment and who are capable of achieving in a program dedicated to academic excellence. We have been blessed with a new facility that allows us room to grow, and look forward to welcoming new students to our school family. We accept students from pre-school age through high school. Our admissions procedure is as follows:
1. Submission of completed application and registration forms, with application fee.
2. Entrance interview with Principal and/or teacher.
3. Entrance testing
The parent/student interview allows us to see that: a) the parents desire a Christian education for their child; b) family beliefs and practices are consistent with the mission, philosophy, and statement of faith of the school; c) the parents/student agree to the discipline of the school; d) the school has the resources and skills to meet the needs of the child while maintaining a safe, positive, and Christian teaching and learning environment; and e) the child, if in grades 7-12, expresses a desire to attend HCA and shows evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a consistent Christian lifestyle. All parents and 7th - 12th grade students will be required to sign a Letter of Commitment each year.
Upon completion of the designated steps, parents are notified as to whether their child has been accepted or not accepted into the school. Students can be accepted with condition; for example: the student is tutored, repeats a grade, or a probation contract is signed. All students are accepted on a 60 calendar day probationary period. Students who have been accepted into the school must have their files complete and accounts current in order to begin school the first day. This includes having completed the necessary physical examinations where required. All students must have immunization forms submitted for school files. All Kindergarten students must be five years old, and first graders must be six years old, before September 30 of the school year in which they are to be enrolled.
Scholarships may be available, as determined by the School Board and the Principal. Requests for scholarships should be made through the school office.
